Camp Forest Senior Counselor Adam Stone is a registered Maine Guide and lifetime resident of the State of Maine.

Our family started a camp before I was even born, Camp Forest. Simple name I know but it gets the message across. From the moment I could crawl I was in the woods or on a canoe near the fire or in the water, creating awesome memories. Some things camp has taught me are starting a fire on a rainy day. but it was more profound than just starting a fire on a rainy day. It wasn't just about survival—it was a lesson in resilience and resourcefulness. The beauty of simplicity wasn't just about living with less; it was about finding joy in the little things, like the warmth of the sun on my face or the sound of birdsong in the early morning.

But perhaps the most valuable lesson of all was learning that it's okay to ask for help. In the wilderness, where every decision could mean the difference between success and failure, pride had no place. I'm still learning in the classroom that is Camp Forest where the wilderness awaits and the lessons are limitless. Together, let's discover the magic of the great outdoors and the joy of learning in nature's classroom.
